Laxa (λa. xa) is an incremental compiler for the Scheme programming language targeting the Squeak VM. Specifically, it targets the version of Squeak underlying the eToys bundle shipped with the OLPC XO-1.
Laxa offers a friendly environment for XO users to experiment with the Scheme programming language, whether working through lessons (either classroom or in a book such as The Little Schemer) or simply manipulating objects using other eToys-hosted packages such as Dr. Geo. It also enables Squeak programming in a functional idiom instead of Smalltalk's imperative idiom.
Here ends the vaporware. Amen.
Laxa is currently under development.
Any resemblance of Laxa's name to the form of an η-redex is purely coincidental.
